Background
Fatima, a 45-year-old office worker, had been experiencing persistent lower back pain for over 3 years. She had tried multiple treatments including medication and rest, but the pain kept returning. She was referred to Aspire Wellness by her physician.
Initial Assessment
Assessment revealed poor lumbar spine mobility, weak core muscles, and prolonged sitting posture contributing to her pain. Her pain level was 7/10 on the visual analogue scale and she was unable to sit for more than 30 minutes without discomfort.
Treatment Approach
A combined approach of manual therapy to restore spinal mobility, core stabilisation exercises, and ergonomic workplace modifications was implemented. Sessions were held twice weekly.
Results
After 8 weeks, Fatima reported pain levels of 1/10. She was able to sit comfortably for extended periods and resumed her regular walking routine. She continues with a home exercise programme for maintenance.
