Background
Ahmed, a 24-year-old semi-professional football player, suffered a complete ACL tear during a competitive match. After surgical reconstruction, he was referred to Aspire Wellness for post-operative rehabilitation.
Initial Assessment
Upon first consultation, Ahmed presented with significant knee swelling, limited range of motion (0-60 degrees), and inability to bear weight without crutches. His goal was to return to competitive football within 6 months.
Treatment Approach
A phased rehabilitation programme was designed focusing on progressive loading, neuromuscular control, and sport-specific training. The programme was divided into four phases over 24 weeks.
Results
Ahmed achieved full range of motion by week 8, returned to light jogging by week 14, and was cleared for competitive play at week 24. His knee stability tests were within normal limits at discharge.
